Illinois High School Softball - Maine West topped by Prospect
May 15, 2021: Mt. Prospect, IL 60056 In Saturday's non-league contest, the Prospect Knights (Mt. Prospect, IL) softball team overwhelmed the visiting Maine West Warriors (Des Plaines, IL), by a margin of 10-0.
With the triumph, Prospect moves its record to 11-7 on the year. The Knights host Schaumburg (Schaumburg, IL) to play the Saxons in a Mid-Suburban West contest on Monday, May 17. The Saxons come into the contest with a record of 8-7. Schaumburg won 12-2 in their recent league contest against Palatine (Palatine, IL)
In their next game, the Warriors play the Highland Park Giants (Highland Park, IL) in a Central Suburban - North contest, on Tuesday, May 18. Maine West will attempt to move on its 7-7 season record. The Giants come into the contest with a 4-8 record after their 14-1 non-league win over Hoffman Estates (Hoffman Estates, IL).
