The crowd at Thursday's non-league battle between the Nichols Vikings (Buffalo, NY) and the host Maryvale Flyers (Cheektowaga, NY), saw Nichols's baseball team gain a win over Maryvale by a tally of 5-1.

The Vikings (12-4) will now prepare for their battle against St. Mary's (Lancaster, NY). The Lancers enter the Monsignor Martin battle with a 6-9 record. In their last battle, St. Mary's was overwhelmed by Nichols (Buffalo, NY), 8-4, in a league battle.

Next, the Flyers face the Iroquois Redhawks (Elma, NY) in a ECIC III battle, on Monday, May 19. Maryvale will attempt to upgrade on its 13-5 season record. The Redhawks enter the battle with a 10-2 record after their 7-1 league loss to Pioneer (Yorkshire, NY).
