New York High School Softball - Mt. Markham bounces Westmoreland
May 16, 2023: Westmoreland, NY 13490 Mt. Markham Mustangs (West Winfield, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Westmoreland Bulldogs (Westmoreland, NY), 9-5 in a league challenge.
The Mustangs now own a 6-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Morrisville-Eaton for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, May 17. Mt. Markham will battle a Warriors squad coming off a 8-4 non-league loss to Clinton (Clinton, NY). The Warriors record now stands at 3-11.
With the loss, Westmoreland falls to 10-5 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Waterville (Waterville, NY) to battle the Indians in a Section 3 Center State II challenge on Wednesday, May 17. The Indians enter the challenge with a record of 0-13. Waterville lost 24-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Mt. Markham (West Winfield, NY)
