In Thursday's league challenge, the Smithfield Packers (Smithfield, VA) baseball squad edged the host New Kent Trojans (New Kent, VA), by a final score of 2-1.

With the win, Smithfield upgrades its record to 14-5 on the season. The Packers travel to Jamestown (Williamsburg, VA) to encounter the Eagles in a Bay Rivers challenge on Friday, May 17.
