Houlton Shiretowners (Houlton, ME) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Presque Isle Wildcats (Presque Isle, ME), 5-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Shiretowners now own a 10-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Mattanawcook for a Class C North challenge on Thursday, May 20.

With the loss, Presque Isle falls to 2-12 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to John Bapst Memorial (Bangor, ME) to battle the Crusaders in a Class B North challenge on Saturday, May 22. The Crusaders enter the challenge with a record of 6-6.
