Illinois High School Softball - Edwardsville bounces Alton
May 2, 2024: Edwardsville, IL 62025 Spectators at Thursday's league match between the Edwardsville Tigers (Edwardsville, IL) and the visiting Alton Redbirds (Alton, IL), witnessed Edwardsville's softball squad prevail over Alton by a count of 10-0.
The Tigers now sport a 17-5 record. They play next when they travel to Washington for a non-league match on Saturday, May 4. Edwardsville will face a Panthers squad coming off a 6-5 league loss to Limestone (Bartonville, IL). The Panthers record now stands at 9-11.
With the loss, Alton moves to 8-10 on the season. The Redbirds host Belleville East (Belleville, IL) to encounter the Lancers in a Southwestern test on Friday, May 3. The Lancers enter the test with a record of 20-8. Belleville East won 14-2 in their recent league test against O'Fallon (O'Fallon, IL)
