Virginia High School Softball - Staunton topped by Rockbridge County
May 2, 2024: Lexington, VA 24450 In Thursday's non-league contest, the Rockbridge County Wildcats (Lexington, VA) softball team overwhelmed the visiting Staunton Storm (Staunton, VA), by a margin of 10-0.
With the triumph, Rockbridge County moves its record to 3-10 on the year. The Wildcats travel to Spotswood (Penn Laird, VA) to play the Trailblazers in a Valley contest on Friday, May 3. The Trailblazers come into the contest with a record of 9-4. Spotswood won 13-3 in their recent non-league contest against Fort Defiance (Fort Defiance, VA)
In their next game, the Storm play the Stuarts Draft Cougars (Stuarts Draft, VA) in a Shenandoah contest, on Tuesday, May 7. Staunton will attempt to move on its 2-12 season record. The Cougars come into the contest with a 8-6 record after their 6-5 league loss to Buffalo Gap (Swoope, VA).
