In Friday's league match, the visiting Brandon Valley Lynx softball team scored a nice 16-3 win over the Mitchell Kernels.

The Lynx (9-2) will now prepare for their match against O'Gorman (Sioux Falls, SD). The Knights come into the Class AA match with a 4-5 record. In their last match, O'Gorman notched a victory over Yankton (Yankton, SD), 13-0, in a league match.

In their next game, the Kernels confront the Stevens Raiders (Rapid City, SD) in a Class AA match, on Friday, May 9. Mitchell will attempt to better on its 4-6 season record.
