The Tri-Valley Vikings edged the visiting Deer Creek-Mackinaw Chiefs softball squad by a count of 9-8 in Friday's league challenge.

Next, the Vikings meet the Sacred Heart-Griffin Cyclones (Springfield, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, May 3. Tri-Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 15-4 season record. The Cyclones enter the challenge with a 7-7 record after their 19-1 league win over MacArthur (Decatur, IL).

The Chiefs (12-7) will now prepare for their challenge against Limestone (Bartonville, IL). The Rockets enter the non-league challenge with a 6-11 record.
