In Saturday's non-league game, the host Mid Valley Spartans baseball team scored a close 3-1 win over the Scranton Knights.

The Spartans (12-3) will now prepare for their game against Lakeland (Jermyn, PA). The Chiefs go into the Lackawanna 2 game with a 10-4 record. In their last game, Lakeland by Dunmore (Dunmore, PA), 4-3, in a league game.

Next, the Knights play the Delaware Valley Warriors (Milford, PA) in a Lackawanna 1 game, on Monday, May 4. Scranton will attempt to improve on its 5-8 season record. The Warriors go into the game with a 3-11 record after their 5-2 league loss to Wallenpaupack Area (Hawley, PA).
