Covington Cougars (Covington, VA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the visiting McCluer Fighting Blues (Buena Vista, VA), 17-7 in a league test.

With the win, Covington upgrades its record to 9-1 on the season. The Cougars travel to Narrows (Narrows, VA) to battle the Green Waves in a Pioneer test on Monday, May 24. The Green Waves come into the test with a record of 3-1. Narrows won 6-1 in their recent league test against Eastern Montgomery (Elliston, VA)

With the defeat, McCluer falls to 1-4 on the season. The Fighting blues host Bath County (Hot Springs, VA) to battle the Chargers in a Pioneer test on Tuesday, May 25.
