Independence Patriots (Coal City, WV) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the host Greenbrier East Spartans (Lewisburg, WV), 8-5 in a non-league test.

With the win, Independence upgrades its record to 15-1 on the season. The Patriots travel to Midland Trail (Hico, WV) to battle the Patriots in a non-league test on Monday, May 24. The Patriots come into the test with a record of 11-5.
