Northwestern Regional Highlanders (Winsted, CT) supporters left the game pleased Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nudge the visiting Shepaug Valley Spartans (Washington, CT), 10-7 in a league game.

With the triumph, Northwestern Regional improves its record to 12-3 on the year. The Highlanders travel to Nonnewaug (Woodbury, CT) to play the Chiefs in a Berkshire game on Wednesday, May 28. The Chiefs enter the game with a record of 21-0. Nonnewaug won 11-4 in their recent league game against Thomaston (Thomaston, CT)

The Spartans now hold a 10-11 record.
