Illinois High School Soccer - Marion knocks off Mt. Vernon
May 3, 2023: Mt. Vernon, IL 62864 Marion Wildcats (Marion, IL) fans were pleased Wednesday as they observed their soccer team triumph over the host Mt. Vernon Rams (Mt. Vernon, IL), 9-0 in a league challenge.
Next, the Wildcats confront the Belleville East Lancers (Belleville, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, May 5. Marion will attempt to better on its 15-4 season record. The Lancers enter the challenge with a 7-12 record after their 4-0 league loss to O'Fallon (O'Fallon, IL).
The Rams now have a 1-18 record. They take the field next when they host Murphysboro for a non-league challenge on Friday, May 5. Mt. Vernon will confront a Red Devils team coming off a 3-1 non-league loss to Carbondale (Carbondale, IL). The Red Devils record now stands at 16-3.
