May 3, 2025: Livonia, MI 48150 The Mattawan Wildcats (Mattawan, MI) baseball trounced the host Franklin Patriots (Livonia, MI), 8-0 in Saturday's non-league challenge.
The Wildcats now own a 15-3 record. They take the field next when they host Portage Northern for a Southwestern Michigan - West challenge on Thursday, May 8. Mattawan will clash with a Huskies team coming off a 8-4 non-league win over Hackett Catholic Prep (Kalamazoo, MI). The Huskies record now stands at 7-13.
With the defeat, Franklin drops to 17-4 on the year. The Patriots host Dearborn (Dearborn, MI) to clash with the Pioneers in a Kensington Lakes - East challenge on Monday, May 5. The Pioneers go into the challenge with a record of 9-7. Dearborn won 12-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Crestwood (Dearborn Heights, MI)
