The University Hawks baseball team scored 16 runs and held the host Preston Knights to 5 in the Hawks non-league win on Monday.

The Hawks now own a 9-16 record. They take the field next when they host Robert C. Byrd for a non-league test on Wednesday, May 6. University will play a Eagles team coming off a 11-7 non-league win over Doddridge County (West Union, WV). The Eagles record now stands at 18-7.

With the defeat, Preston drops to 7-14 on the year. The Knights host Lincoln (Shinnston, WV) to play the Cougars in a Big Ten test on Tuesday, May 5. The Cougars go into the test with a record of 16-9. Lincoln won 18-7 in their recent league test against North Marion (Farmington, WV)
