The Black River Pirates triumphed over the host Firelands Falcons softball squad by a count of 7-2 in Monday's league challenge.

Next, the Pirates play the Brookside Cardinals (Sheffield, OH) in a Lorain County 8 challenge, on Tuesday, May 5. Black River will attempt to upgrade on its 5-11 season record. The Cardinals enter the challenge with a 4-13 record after their 16-15 league loss to Wellington (Wellington, OH).
