Gilroy Mustangs (Gilroy, CA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the host Evergreen Valley Cougars (San Jose, CA), 5-1 in a league test.

With the win, Gilroy upgrades its record to 15-6 on the season. The Mustangs travel to Piedmont Hills (San Jose, CA) to battle the Pirates in a Santa Teresa test on Wednesday, May 10. The Pirates come into the test with a record of 12-11. Piedmont Hills won 5-1 in their recent league test against Oak Grove (San Jose, CA)

With the defeat, Evergreen Valley falls to 12-9 on the season. The Cougars host More (San Jose, CA) to battle the Knights in a non-league test on Monday, May 8. The Knights come into the test with a record of 17-6. More won 7-5 in their recent league test against Pinewood (Los Altos Hills, CA)
