Kentucky High School Baseball - Rockcastle County sneaks past Southwestern

May 5, 2025: Somerset, KY 42503

The crowd at Monday's non-league battle between the Rockcastle County Rockets (Mt. Vernon, KY) and the host Southwestern Warriors (Somerset, KY), saw Rockcastle County's baseball team get by Southwestern by a tally of 2-1.

The Rockets (7-11) will now prepare for their battle against North Laurel (London, KY). The Jaguars enter the non-league battle with a 12-12 record. In their last battle, North Laurel held off Leslie County (Hyden, KY), 13-6, in a non-league battle.

Next, the Warriors face the Somerset Briar Jumpers (Somerset, KY) in a non-league battle, on Tuesday, May 6. Southwestern will attempt to upgrade on its 11-12 season record. The Briar Jumpers enter the battle with a 10-14 record after their 3-1 non-league win over Russell County (Russell Springs, KY).
