Illinois High School Soccer - Southwestern toppled by Greenville
May 5, 2025: Piasa, IL 62079 Greenville Comets (Greenville, IL) boosters exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they witnessed their soccer team beat the host Southwestern Piasa Birds (Piasa, IL), 4-0 in a league test.
With the triumph, Greenville moves its record to 13-6 on the campaign. The Comets host Breese Central (Breese, IL) to clash with the Cougars in a non-league test on Tuesday, May 6. The Cougars come into the test with a record of 5-8. Breese Central won 8-0 in their recent league test against East Alton-Wood River (Wood River, IL)
The Piasa Birds now sport a 4-13 record. They take the field next when they host Mater Dei for a non-league test on Wednesday, May 7. Southwestern will clash with a Knights team coming off a 7-0 non-league loss to Althoff Catholic (Belleville, IL). The Knights record now stands at 3-11.
