Salem Spartans (Salem, VA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the visiting Cave Spring Knights (Roanoke, VA), 5-3 in a league test.

With the win, Salem upgrades its record to 13-2 on the season. The Spartans travel to William Byrd (Vinton, VA) to battle the Terriers in a non-league test on Thursday, May 11. The Terriers come into the test with a record of 11-5. William Byrd won 12-4 in their recent non-league test against Northside (Roanoke, VA)

With the defeat, Cave Spring falls to 7-4 on the season. The Knights host Pulaski County (Dublin, VA) to play the Cougars in a non-league battle on Tuesday, May 9.
