The Pittston Patriots triumphed over the host Wilkes-Barre Wolfpack softball squad by a count of 17-9 in Tuesday's league challenge.

Next, the Patriots meet the Crestwood Comets (Mountain Top, PA) in a Wyoming Valley 1 challenge, on Thursday, May 8. Pittston will attempt to upgrade on its 8-6 season record. The Comets enter the challenge with a 6-9 record after their 12-9 league loss to Hazleton Area (Hazleton, PA).

The Wolfpack (3-9) will now prepare for their challenge against Hazleton Area (Hazleton, PA). The Cougars enter the Wyoming Valley 1 challenge with a 7-10 record. In their last challenge, Hazleton Area overcame Crestwood (Mountain Top, PA), 12-9, in a league challenge.
