May 8, 2025: Youngstown, OH 44509 The Rootstown Rovers baseball team scored 12 runs and held the host Chaney Cowboys to 0 in the Rovers non-league win on Thursday.
The Rovers now own a 11-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Lake for a non-league test on Friday, May 9. Rootstown will play a Blue Streaks team coming off a 2-0 league loss to Jackson (Massillon, OH). The Blue Streaks record now stands at 10-8.
With the defeat, Chaney drops to 3-12 on the year. The Cowboys travel to Wellsville (Wellsville, OH) to play the Tigers in a non-league test on Monday, May 12. The Tigers go into the test with a record of 3-17. Wellsville lost 17-1 in their recent league test against United (Hanoverton, OH)
