May 9, 2024: Wayland, NY 14572 The Wayland-Cohocton Eagles (Wayland, NY) softball nipped the visiting Naples Big Green Machines (Naples, NY), 6-5 in Thursday's non-league bout.
The Eagles (8-4) will now prepare for their bout against Warsaw (Warsaw, NY). The Tigers go into the non-league bout with a 8-8 record. In their last bout, Warsaw was edged by Le Roy (Le Roy, NY), 10-2, in a league bout.
The Big Green Machines now possess a 7-8 record. They play next when they host South Seneca for a Finger Lakes West bout on Monday, May 13. Naples will confront a Falcons squad coming off a 19-5 non-league loss to Bradford Central (Bradford, NY). The Falcons record now stands at 5-4.
