Archbishop Mitty Monarchs (San Jose, CA) backers left the game pleased Friday as they saw their softball squad nudge the visiting St. Ignatius College Preparatory Wildcats (San Francisco, CA), 2-1 in a league game.

With the triumph, Archbishop Mitty upgrades its record to 13-6 on the year. The Monarchs travel to Saint Francis (Mountain View, CA) to play the Lancers in a West Catholic game on Wednesday, May 14. The Lancers enter the game with a record of 23-2. Saint Francis won 10-0 in their recent league game against Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory (San Francisco, CA)

The Wildcats now own a 11-8 record. They play next when they travel to Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory for a non-league game on Monday, May 12. St. Ignatius College Preparatory will play a Fightin' Irish squad coming off a 10-0 league loss to Saint Francis (Mountain View, CA). The Fightin' Irish record now stands at 10-10.
