Iowa High School Softball - Oelwein bounces Denver
June 14, 2024: Oelwein, IA 50662 Oelwein Huskies (Oelwein, IA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Denver Cyclones (Denver, IA), 8-2 in a non-league challenge.
The Huskies now own a 7-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to Wapsie Valley for a non-league challenge on Monday, June 17. Oelwein will face a Warriors squad coming off a 10-6 league win over Jesup (Jesup, IA). The Warriors record now stands at 13-7.
With the loss, Denver falls to 6-10 on the campaign. The Cyclones host Nashua-Plainfield (Nashua, IA) to face the Huskies in a non-league challenge on Saturday, June 15. The Huskies enter the challenge with a record of 2-14. Nashua-Plainfield lost 14-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Newman Catholic (Mason City, IA)
