Iowa High School Baseball - Solon defeats Independence
June 2, 2025: Independence, IA 50644 In Monday's league game, the visiting Solon Spartans baseball team scored a close 11-6 win over the Independence Mustangs.
The Spartans (5-4) will now prepare for their game against Vinton-Shellsburg (Vinton, IA). The Vikings go into the non-league game with a 3-4 record. In their last game, Vinton-Shellsburg was overwhelmed by Williamsburg (Williamsburg, IA), 6-3, in a league game.
Next, the Mustangs play the Western Dubuque Bobcats (Epworth, IA) in a non-league game, on Wednesday, June 4. Independence will attempt to improve on its 5-3 season record. The Bobcats go into the game with a 4-3 record after their 8-4 league loss to Kennedy (Cedar Rapids, IA).
