Iowa High School Softball - Benton holds off Mt. Vernon
June 21, 2023: Mt. Vernon, IA 52314 The Benton Bobcats (Van Horne, IA) softball the host Mt. Vernon Mustangs (Mt. Vernon, IA), 8-6 in Wednesday's non-league bout.
The Bobcats (20-10) will now prepare for their bout against Bettendorf (Bettendorf, IA). The Bulldogs go into the non-league bout with a 14-8 record. In their last bout, Bettendorf held off Davenport West (Davenport, IA), 8-0, in a non-league bout.
The Mustangs now possess a 19-6 record. They play next when they host North Scott for a non-league bout on Friday, June 23. Mt. Vernon will confront a Lancers squad coming off a 2-1 non-league loss to Maquoketa (Maquoketa, IA). The Lancers record now stands at 12-7.
