June 24, 2024: Alburnett, IA 52202 The Alburnett Pirates baseball team scored 3 runs and held the visiting Edgewood-Colesburg Vikings to 2 in the Pirates non-league win on Monday.
The Pirates now hold a 22-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to North Cedar for a non-league test on Wednesday, June 26. Alburnett will play a Knights team coming off a 11-0 non-league loss to Calamus-Wheatland (Wheatland, IA). The Knights record now stands at 1-15.
With the defeat, Edgewood-Colesburg drops to 4-15 on the year. The Vikings travel to North Fayette Valley (West Union, IA) to play the in a non-league test on Wednesday, June 26. The go into the test with a record of 1-17. North Fayette Valley lost 12-1 in their recent league test against Kee (Lansing, IA)
