June 7, 2025: West Liberty, IA 52776 The crowd at Saturday's non-league battle between the West Liberty Comets (West Liberty, IA) and the visiting Benton Bobcats (Van Horne, IA), saw West Liberty's baseball team gain a win over Benton by a tally of 4-2.
The Comets (5-7) will now prepare for their battle against Mid-Prairie (Wellman, IA). The Golden Hawks enter the non-league battle with a 9-1 record. In their last battle, Mid-Prairie held off Fairfield (Fairfield, IA), 12-11, in a non-league battle.
Next, the Bobcats face the Independence Mustangs (Independence, IA) in a non-league battle, on Monday, June 9. Benton will attempt to upgrade on its 11-3 season record. The Mustangs enter the battle with a 7-5 record after their 8-7 league win over Mt. Vernon (Mt. Vernon, IA).
