Iowa High School Baseball - Mt. Vernon holds off Cascade
July 1, 2024: Mt. Vernon, IA 52314 The crowd at Monday's non-league battle between the Mt. Vernon Mustangs (Mt. Vernon, IA) and the visiting Cascade Cougars (Cascade, IA), saw Mt. Vernon's baseball team gain a win over Cascade by a tally of 10-6.
The Mustangs (16-14) will now prepare for their battle against Davenport North (Davenport, IA). The Wildcats enter the non-league battle with a 26-10 record. In their last battle, Davenport North held off Muscatine (Muscatine, IA), 2-0, in a non-league battle.
Next, the Cougars face the Camanche Indians (Camanche, IA) in a River Valley - North battle, on Tuesday, July 2. Cascade will attempt to upgrade on its 5-10 season record.
