Iowa High School Softball - West Lyon edges Akron-Westfield
July 1, 2025: Akron, IA 51001 The West Lyon Wildcats (Inwood, IA) softball the host Akron-Westfield Westerners (Akron, IA), 10-8 in Tuesday's non-league outing.
The Wildcats now sport a 23-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host MOC-Floyd Valley for a Siouxland outing on Wednesday, July 2. West Lyon will encounter a Dutchmen team coming off a 12-6 non-league loss to Storm Lake (Storm Lake, IA). The Dutchmen record now stands at 17-5.
With the loss, Akron-Westfield moves to 17-3 on the season. The Westerners host George-Little Rock (George, IA) to encounter the Mustangs in a War Eagle outing on Wednesday, July 2. The Mustangs come into the outing with a record of 2-13. George-Little Rock lost 4-1 in their recent league outing against Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union (Marcus, IA)
