Georgia High School Volleyball - Callaway can't hold off Heard County
August 11, 2022: Franklin, GA 30217 In Thursday's non-league battle, the host Heard County Braves volleyball team scored a tight 2-1 triumph over the Callaway Cavaliers.
The Braves (4-0) will now prepare for their battle against Northside (Columbus, GA). The Patriots come into the non-league battle with a 0-4 record. In their last battle, Northside was edged by Pope (Marietta, GA), 2-0, in a non-league game.
The Cavaliers (0-1) will now prepare for their game against Heard County (Franklin, GA). The Braves enter the non-league game with a 4-0 record.
Match Summary
The lady Braves struggled early against rival Callaway and dropped the first set. In the second set it looked as if Callaway would secure the win as they were up 21 to 11. The Braves were able to close the gap with server Allena Bradfield and then continue to fight to get the win in extra points.The third set the Braves jumped out to an early lead with server Madison Adams to get to 12-3. Callaway was not done as they battled back but fell just short in the third set.
