The Schulenburg Shorthorns held off the host Brazos Cougars volleyball team by a score of 2-1 in Saturday's non-league test.

The Shorthorns now have a 6-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Bellville for a non-league test on Tuesday, August 17.

The Cougars (4-4) will now prepare for their test against Ganado (Ganado, TX). The Indians enter the non-league test with a 4-5 record. In their last test, Ganado was nudged by Brazosport (Freeport, TX), 2-1, in a non-league test.
