North Carolina High School Volleyball - West Craven routed by Pamlico County
August 15, 2023: Vanceboro, NC 28586 The Pamlico County Hurricanes volleyball team scored 3 points and limited the host West Craven Eagles to 0 in the Hurricanes non-league victory on Tuesday.
The Hurricanes now possess a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host Havelock for a non-league game on Wednesday, August 16. Pamlico County will meet a Rams team coming off a 3-0 non-league loss to Swansboro (Swansboro, NC). The Rams record now stands at 0-1.
The Eagles (0-1) will now prepare for their game against Southside (Chocowinity, NC). The Seahawks enter the non-league game with a 0-1 record. In their last game, Southside was dropped by Greene Central (Snow Hill, NC), 3-0, in a non-league game.
Match Summary
Although the Eagles got off to a slow start by the end of the match the Eagles found their swing and were in control the majority of the third set. Pamlico, always technically sound, managed to weather the storm and pulled out a narrow victory in the third set for the match. Outstanding individual efforts by Alissa Yates, #8, and Izabella Sutton, #6 with important contributions off of the bench by Jamia Evans, #4.
