August 17, 2023: Vanceboro, NC 28586 The Southside Seahawks volleyball team (Chocowinity, NC), was dropped 3-0 in Thursday's non-league challenge with the host West Craven Eagles (Vanceboro, NC)
The Eagles (1-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Havelock (Havelock, NC). The Rams enter the non-league challenge with a 0-2 record. In their last challenge, Havelock was dropped by Pamlico County (Bayboro, NC), 3-0, in a non-league challenge.
Next, the Seahawks encounter the Greene Central Rams (Snow Hill, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, August 22. Southside will attempt to move on its 0-2 season record. The Rams enter the challenge with a 2-0 record after their 3-0 non-league win over Eastern Wayne (Goldsboro, NC).
Match Summary
The WCHS Eagles varsity volleyball team had a deciding win versus the Southside High Seahawks, winning the match in straight sets 25-16, 25-20, & 25-13. Although play was, at times, inconsistent the Eagles showed their grit and determination pulling the team together and finishing each set focused and eager for the next. This was an all around team effort tonight with solid minutes coming from the bench.
