The Gunnison Cowboys triumphed over the host Montezuma-Cortez Panthers softball squad by a count of 13-2 in Saturday's league battle.

The Cowboys now possess a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Montezuma-Cortez for a 3A Western Slope battle on Saturday, August 16. Gunnison will confront a Panthers team coming off a 16-6 league loss to Cedaredge (Cedaredge, CO). The Panthers record now stands at 0-2.
