The Melissa Cardinals volleyball squad (Melissa, TX), was knocked off 2-0 in Saturday's non-league contest with the host Plano East Panthers (Plano, TX)

The Panthers (5-1) will now prepare for their contest against Allen (Allen, TX). The Eagles enter the 6A Region I District 6 contest with a 5-1 record. In their last battle, Allen achieved victory over Southlake Carroll (Southlake, TX), 3-1, in a non-league battle.

The Cardinals now own a 4-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Lone Star for a non-league battle on Tuesday, August 19. Melissa will meet a Rangers team coming off a 2-0 non-league win over Tatum (Tatum, TX). The Rangers record now stands at 6-1.
