In Thursday's non-league contest, the Edinburg Bobcats (Edinburg, TX) volleyball squad knocked off the host Veterans Memorial Chargers (Brownsville, TX), by a margin of 3-1.

Next up, the Bobcats battle the Porter Cowboys (Brownsville, TX) in a non-league contest, on Thursday, August 17. Edinburg will attempt to better on its 8-3 season record. The Cowboys come into the contest with a 5-1 record after their 3-0 non-league loss to Palmview (La Joya, TX).

With the loss, Veterans Memorial drops to 2-8 on the campaign. The Chargers host Harlingen South (Harlingen, TX) to battle the Hawks in a 5A Region IV District 32 contest on Tuesday, August 22.
