The Southwest SD Raiders football team (San Diego, CA), was topped 40-19 in Friday's non-league bout with the host Hoover Cardinals (San Diego, CA)

With the win, Hoover advances its record to 1-0 on the season. The Cardinals host Vincent Memorial (Calexico, CA) to encounter the Scots in a non-league match on Friday, September 5. The Scots enter the match with a record of 0-0.

Coming up next, the Raiders confront the Bettye Davis East Anchorage Thunderbirds (Anchorage, AK) in a non-league match, on Friday, August 29. Southwest SD will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record. The Thunderbirds enter the match with a 0-2 record after their 41-22 league loss to Juneau-Douglas (Juneau, AK).
