In Friday's non-league game, the San Ysidro Cougars (San Diego, CA) football squad tipped the host Hoover Cardinals (San Diego, CA), by a margin of 42-35.

The Cougars now sport a 3-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Southwest EC for a non-league outing on Friday, September 26. San Ysidro will clash with a Eagles squad coming off a 8-0 non-league win over O'Farrell Charter (San Diego, CA). The Eagles record now stands at 1-4.

With the defeat, Hoover drops to 2-2 on the campaign. The Cardinals host Vista (Vista, CA) to battle the Panthers in a non-league game on Friday, September 26. The Panthers enter the game with a record of 0-5. Vista lost 42-7 in their recent non-league game against Orange Vista (Perris, CA)
