In Friday's non-league game, the McMinn Central Chargers (Englewood, TN) football team overcame the host Polk County Wildcats (Benton, TN), by a tally of 22-12.

In their next game, the Chargers battle the Eagleton College & Career Academy Royals (Maryville, TN) in a non-league game, on Thursday, August 28. McMinn Central will attempt to better on its 1-0 season record. The Royals enter the game with a 0-1 record after their 38-20 non-league loss to Oliver Springs (Oliver Springs, TN).

With the defeat, Polk County drops to 0-1 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Marion County (Jasper, TN) to clash with the Warriors in a non-league outing on Friday, August 29.
