North Carolina High School Volleyball - Excelsior Classical Academy over Southern Wake Academy

August 22, 2025: Durham, NC 27704

In Friday's non-league challenge, the host Excelsior Classical Academy Flying Lions volleyball team scored a 3-1 victory over the Southern Wake Academy Lions.

The Flying Lions (3-1) will now prepare for their test against Oxford Prep (Oxford, NC). The Griffins go into the Triangle North 1A/2A test with a 1-4 record. In their last test, Oxford Prep was defeated by Eno River Academy (Hillsborough, NC), 3-1, in a league test.

The Lions now have a 1-1 record. They play next when they host Clover Garden School for a Central Tar Heel 1A challenge on Monday, August 25. Southern Wake Academy will meet a Grizzlies team coming off a 3-1 non-league win over Burlington Christian Academy (Burlington, NC). The Grizzlies record now stands at 4-1.
