Weed Cougars (Weed, CA) backers exited the stadium pleased Saturday as they witnessed their soccer team get by the visiting Modoc Braves (Alturas, CA), 2-1 in a non-league test.

With the triumph, Weed advances its record to 1-1 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Tulelake (Tulelake, CA) to play the Honkers in a Shasta Cascade outing on Tuesday, September 2. The Honkers go into the outing with a record of 6-3.

Next up, the Braves play the Butte Valley Bulldogs (Dorris, CA) in a Shasta Cascade outing, on Tuesday, August 26. Modoc will attempt to improve on its 2-5 season record. The Bulldogs go into the outing with a 1-1 record after their 4-0 non-league loss to Tulelake (Tulelake, CA).
