August 23, 2025: Gainesville, GA 30501 The Mount Vernon Mustangs (Atlanta, GA) volleyball knocked off the host Gainesville Red Elephants (Gainesville, GA), 2-0 in Saturday's non-league bout.
The Mustangs now possess a 7-6 record. They play next when they host Walker for a 1A Area 5 bout on Tuesday, August 26. Mount Vernon will clash with a Wolverines team coming off a 2-0 non-league win over North Springs (Atlanta, GA). The Wolverines record now stands at 11-5.
With the loss, Gainesville drops to 12-6 on the campaign. The Red elephants travel to Milton (Milton, GA) to clash with the Eagles in a 5A Area 7 match on Thursday, September 4. The Eagles enter the match with a record of 11-6.
