The crowd at Thursday's non-league bout between the Wilkes Central Eagles (Wilkesboro, NC) and the visiting South Caldwell Spartans (Hudson, NC), saw Wilkes Central's volleyball squad nip South Caldwell by a tally of 2-1.

With the win, Wilkes Central upgrades its record to 6-0 on the year. The Eagles travel to North Surry (Mount Airy, NC) to play the Greyhounds in a non-league bout on Tuesday, August 30. The Greyhounds go into the bout with a record of 5-0.

The Spartans now own a 3-3 record. They play next when they host Newton-Conover for a non-league bout on Monday, August 29. South Caldwell will play a Red Devils squad coming off a 2-0 non-league loss to St. Stephens (Hickory, NC). The Red Devils record now stands at 1-1.
