The crowd at Thursday's non-league contest between the Desert Edge Scorpions (Goodyear, AZ) and the visiting Cactus Shadows Falcons (Cave Creek, AZ), witnessed Desert Edge's football squad knock off Cactus Shadows by a tally of 27-19.

The Scorpions (1-0) will now prepare for their contest against Cienega (Vail, AZ). The Bobcats enter the non-league contest with a 0-1 record. In their last contest, Cienega was toppled by Buena (Sierra Vista, AZ), 38-31, in a non-league contest.

Coming up next, the Falcons battle the ALA - Gilbert North Eagles (Gilbert, AZ) in a non-league contest, on Friday, September 5. Cactus Shadows will attempt to better on its 0-1 season record. The Eagles enter the contest with a 1-0 record after their 30-28 non-league win over Casa Grande (Casa Grande, AZ).
