Ohio High School Soccer - Zanesville nudges Mt. Vernon
August 28, 2025: Mt. Vernon, OH 43050 Fans at Thursday's league battle between the Zanesville Blue Devils (Zanesville, OH) and the host Mt. Vernon Yellowjackets (Mt. Vernon, OH), saw Zanesville's soccer squad hold off Mt. Vernon by a count of 3-2.
With the triumph, Zanesville moves its record to 1-2 on the campaign. The Blue Devils travel to Bishop Rosecrans (Zanesville, OH) to meet the Bishops in a non-league match on Saturday, August 30. The Bishops come into the match with a record of 3-0. Bishop Rosecrans won 7-3 in their recent league match against Wellington School (Columbus, OH)
The Yellowjackets now sport a 1-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Johnstown-Monroe for a Licking County match on Thursday, September 4.
