Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC) fans were thrilled Monday as they observed their soccer team triumph over the visiting Alleghany Trojans (Sparta, NC), 10-1 in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Huskies face the Mount Airy Granite Bears (Mount Airy, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Wednesday, August 31. Ashe County will attempt to better on its 4-2 season record. The Granite Bears enter the challenge with a 4-0 record after their 8-1 non-league win over East Surry (Pilot Mountain, NC).

The Trojans now have a 0-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to North Surry for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, August 31. Alleghany will face a Greyhounds team coming off a 4-2 non-league loss to Starmount (Boonville, NC). The Greyhounds record now stands at 1-2.
