The Quitman Panthers football squad scored 22 points and limited the host Meridian Wildcats to 6 in the Panthers non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Panthers now sport a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host Heidelberg for a non-league test on Thursday, September 5. Quitman will meet a Oilers squad coming off a 56-12 non-league win over Perry Central (New Augusta, MS). The Oilers record now stands at 1-1.
